It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Duane Henry Lieser, age 88, and Rosella “Rosie” Marie Lieser, age 85, of Belgrade, who died together on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Their passing marks the loss of a lifelong partnership built on faith, hard work, family, and devotion to the land and community they loved so deeply.
Duane was born on October 19, 1937, in Spring Hill, Minnesota, to Charles and Margaret Lieser. Raised in a rural farming environment, he developed a strong work ethic early in life and dedicated himself fully to farming on the family homestead for his entire life.
Rosie was born on April 11, 1941, in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, to Gilbert and Pearl Adelman. A graduate of Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, she worked in the city before embracing her role as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker alongside Duane on the farm.
The couple met in their twenties at a dance hall in Sauk Rapids and were united in marriage on November 25, 1965, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together, they built a life centered on faith and family, raising nine children and sharing many decades on their farm near Belgrade.
Duane and Rosie were active members of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Henry, where their faith remained the foundation of their lives. They enjoyed gardening, traveling, visiting the casino, attending farm sales, and playing cards with friends. Above all, their greatest joy was their family—supporting their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all of life’s milestones.
They are survived by their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. They were preceded in death by their parents and siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Lake Henry. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
