It is with deep sorrow that the family of Harold Floyd Hall announces his unexpected passing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the age of 74. A lifelong resident of Muskegon and proud member of the Norton Shores community, Harold leaves behind a remarkable legacy built on hard work, family devotion, and a lifelong passion for boating and the water.
Born on April 14, 1952, in Muskegon to Floyd and Donna Hall, Harold graduated from Muskegon High School and quickly became known for his determination and entrepreneurial spirit. In 1972, he founded Hall’s Sport Center from his parents’ front yard, transforming a small family business into one of West Michigan’s most respected boat dealerships. Over the course of 54 years, Harold’s leadership and vision helped the business expand to four locations, bringing countless families together through the joy of boating. In 2024, Hall’s Sport Center earned national recognition as one of Boating Industry’s Top 20 dealers in the country — a proud milestone that reflected Harold’s dedication and the commitment of his loyal team.
Beyond his professional success, Harold was a man who deeply valued relationships and simple moments with loved ones. Whether entertaining friends on the water, enjoying time at Marco Island with his beloved wife Shelley, or gathering family together for football games and fish fries, Harold found true happiness in the company of others. His warmth, generosity, and love for life touched many people throughout the community.
Harold is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shelley, his children, grandchildren, extended family, devoted employees, and many lifelong friends. His impact on Muskegon and the boating community will never be forgotten, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
